Weight Loss- FQA

February 17, 2016

Hello Loves,

So after my weight loss article went viral online, magazines and newspapers I have gotten thousands of emails, snaps, Dm’s, messages and tweets, me being just one person can’t respond to everyone as there is so many of you, and most of you are asking me the same exact questions.

This is why I asked you all to jot your questions down so I could do a FQA post and answer them for you.

Before I jump in to this, I want to say that what has worked for me, might not necessarily work for you.

  • What was your highs and lows of your weight loss journey?

Well, the highs were obviously seeing the benefits of my hard work, me dropping the weight off and seeing my body changing. The lows was at the start mainly as I felt so hopeless that I would never lose weight and I would just keep getting bigger and bigger. Another major low was when my body hit a plateau, this basically means your body gets used to the diet and exercises that you do and you have to eventually switch your routine up, after much research on google did I figure out why I had stopped loosing weight.

  • What YouTube videos did you use?

I literally typed in “effective ab, bum and leg workouts” and zumba. Then I simply tried the different workouts out and saw what worked for me.

I also did the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels and the Insanity workout by Sean T (DVD’s).

  • What’s the the most important thing for weight loss ?

For me it is nutrition. You have to remember as much as I workout if my diet wasn’t clean I would not of lost weight. 70% of weight loss is purely your diet.

  • How long did it take you to loose the weight?

In my eyes fitness is a lifestyle so I would say i’m still trying to change my body as I am far from perfect, but I have progressed so I am very happy with that. At first my weight dropped off very quickly, I would say the majority dropped off in the first 6months, then later on it slowed down as I had less weight to shed.

  • What was the hardest part?

For me it’s not even about losing the weight, it’s maintaining it. Hence why now it has become my lifestyle and not something that is simply on my “to do list”.

  • How do I start my weight loss journey?

I personally went cold turkey, cut out everything and went into hardcore training. However I don’t recommend that. I would say ease into it slowly slowly with your diet and workouts, this way I have seen many people avoid the plateau stage as they have gradually built up their fitness level.

  • How did you get rid of your stretch marks if you had any?

I had A LOT of stretch marks, deep purple ones to be precise. I found Bio Oil helped me dramatically, working out is also a must for loose skin and stretch marks. I saw a dramatic change in my stretch marks, you can barley see them now, they are just silvery, but I don’t mind, they just remind me how far I’ve come.

  • What do you do for leg/ thigh workouts?

To be honest with everyone I am very bottom heavy, I find it so, so hard to lose weight on my bottom half, and as a women it is a tad harder to lose weight there, plus it depends on your body shape/ structure. I personally love the rebounder when i do cardio at home (its the mini trampoline) I find it so fun and enjoyable, I can literally do it for one hour non stop. If you are simply looking to tone your legs I would recommend more weight training and circuit training.

  • I crave sweet things all the time, how can I beat that craving?

I used to drink hot water, honey and lemon whenever I craved anything sweet.

  • Do you only use Teami Tea for detoxing?

Yes the only thing I use, I personally swear by it.

  • Would you suggest weight loss pills?

Never, I would never recommend pills that promise you “quick weight loss” to anyone.

  • What’s your best weight loss advice?

You will lose weight, I promise, if you stick to it and have that drive, motivation and determination you will.

It all falls down to how much you really want to lose weight, there is a big difference in saying something and doing something.

Trust the process, and the process will do you and your body justice.

Okay loves, these were my most frequently asked questions (I have gotten thousands of more questions tailored to the people asking me for advice. I will be responding to them personally).

I honestly just want to say thank you so, so much for your heart warming comments. I am so glad that so many of you see me as your inspiration. I try respond to as many comments and emails as I get, believe me some of what I have read literally broke my heart as it reminded me how I felt and sometimes still feel, but just know that I believe in all of you and love all you guys dearly.

I hope my weight loss story has helped and motivated most of you guys to either continue your weight loss journey or kick start your weight loss journey.

Much Love,

How did you get past your plateaus? I am in one and its so disheartening..

    • Reply Lisi February 21, 2016 at 7:14 pm

All I can tell you is DONT GIVE UPPPPPP!!!!
I know it feels like you will never get past it, but believe me you will, and once you do, your fat will just melt off you.
I will advise you to literally not weigh yourself for like a month, up your fitness routine, do it at a harder level, if your doing 1 hour a day of working out do 1 hour and 30mins, change your eating habits not by eating less but trying different types of foods.
You need to trick your body because it has gotten into a routine, so in order to get your body out of the plateau you need to give your self that extra kick up the bum.
      Hope this helps!!

How did you get rid of the access skin and cellulite from losing weight?

    • Reply Lisi February 22, 2016 at 12:18 pm

Still have plenty of cellulite (on my lower body), but for excess skin I got rid of it purely from exercise.

This is just unbelievable! You are my idol. But I have a few questions… How much time did you spend per day to achieve this progress? How long did it take to reach your body goals? And.. Can you tell me what kind of diet did you keep?

    • Reply Lisi March 3, 2016 at 4:21 pm

Oh thank you, that is so sweet.
There is no fixed “time” if you are referring to my workouts they would range from 1hour a day to 3 or 4 hours if I would workout twice.
To be honest I’m not perfect now I still have a long way to go to reach my ultimate goals, but it was a struggle as my weight would yo yo, I battled all my life with my weight so I could drop weight fast and gain it fast, but now I have been able to maintain it.
As for my diet, I will be releasing a workout and diet eBook in time for summer, so stay tuned ;).

      Much love,
