Weight-loss/ Fitness motivation!

Aloha Everyone!

(Decided to change my greeting line this time :))

So in this post I will be talking about weightless motivation tips/ techniques.

To those that follow my blog/ social media sites know I used to be extremely obese and could barely walk. When people see me now they never believe I was once that big, to the point where I actually wobbled when I walked.

I consider myself to be very active as I try to workout pretty much everyday for about 2hours at least. The amount of questions I get on how I get myself to the gym everyday or how I even get out of bed to go for a run, the answer for me is very simple. I NEVER WANT TO GO BACK TO HOW I WAS. That for me is my motivation and plus the buzz I get after a workout makes me feel amazing!!

When I was bigger I was a major comfort eater, I would always make excuses why I shouldn’t workout, or simply would always postpone my workouts to the next day, and when the next day came I would postpone it to the next week. I didn’t have the motivation or determination to lose the weight.

However for me it clicked, in my mind that is. When it comes to fitness and weight-loss I have realised that it is all psychological and if you program your mind to think a certain way then everything else, whether it be your diet or your motivation for workouts, will follow.

A few motivation tips that worked for me:

  • make a workout schedule
  • write what you eat down on paper (keep a diary)
  • get a workout buddy
  • have something to work towards, your not going to lose 10kg in a week so break it down in little milestones.
  • I wouldn’t personally advise you NOT to weigh yourself everyday or every week as weight fluctuates simply by drinking a glass of water or added muscle, this will then lead you to being discouraged and will break you down mentally, so I would say get rid of your scales!!
  • always tell yourself that YOU CAN DO IT, a lot of people have done it so therefore it isn’t impossible.

For me working out and eating clean is now a lifestyle and I wouldn’t have it any other way, my body always feels energised and refreshed, me looking better than I did is now just my bonus, even though this was the reason I first started my weight-loss journey.

    Great post! Totally agree with ditching the scale, I usually use progress pictures or measurements to track progress.

      Thank you ☺️!! I used to weigh myself 3times a day and all my hard work seemed pointless and it really messed with my mind. Now I hardly ever weigh myself.
