Waist Trainers, Do they really work?

September 22, 2015

Hello LOVES!

I hope all is well, I haven’t blogged in a while, however something has struck me these past couple of weeks.

I have been getting a numerous amount of questions about “waist trainers” and if they really serve the purpose of their advertisements. I have had people snapchat me, DM me, email me and actually approach me in the gym asking me does it magically make your stomach flat, or get that tiny tiny Kim Kardashian figure.

First of all let me start by saying that Yes I do own a waist trainer, and yes I do wear it when I train.

With that said it has taken me a while to get to a fitness level where I am able to freely train with a waist trainer because as you know they are extremely tight!

I already have an hourglass figure so I mainly use it for back support when I do weight training. I will still wear my waist trainer when I do long cardio Intervals whether it’s on gym machines or circuit training simply on a mat. I find that this is more of an effective exercise for a waist trainer as it actually allows me to sweat more around my stomach and waist area when wearing the waist trainer.

I don’t necessarily train or target my waist when I train, I just wear the waist trainer during any exercise I undergo, and the waist trainer simply cinches me in and sweats/ detoxifies my stomach area.

I am all for waist trainers, however they will not magically make you get a flatter stomach just by wearing it 8hours a day, you will definitely need to be on a healthy DIET and training FREQUENTLY in order for you to actually see a result after a couple of weeks.

When it comes to weight-loss and fitness there is no short-cut or easy way out (unless you get surgery). I personally will not advertise or post something that doesn’t work when it comes to health and fitness Hence why I am explaining how to get the most out of a Waist Trainer.

So to conclude, my personal opinion is that yes, they do work BUT only if combined with a healthy diet and frequent exercise regime.

I hope this helps anyone looking to purchase a waist trainer, they are absolutely GREAT, even if you just want it to hide the flabby bits around your stomach on a night out and not actually looking to lose weight wearing one :).

All the best, and Much LOVE munchkins,

Lisi xo
